We were pleased to be invited to attend The Times Tech Summit in London. Unlike many tech events, this was a hybrid event with less than 200 live participants which made it a very warm and manageable event.

Sessions related to the impact of tech for good and the topic of the day- generative AI. Of particular interest to Platforum 9 – a social audio app for lawyersreaders was the imput from David Wakeling from global law firm Allen & Overy who outlined the firms early adoption of ChatGPT in the form of Harvey.
Viewed internally very much as a change management tool, all were surprised by the quick adoption of all generations within the firm and once the first phase is successfully implemented in general terms the next phase will be to include the firms hundred years of know how an precedents to develop a truly relevant knowledge infrastructure designed to drive productivity and accuracy.

We were also interested to hear from Will Williams at Speechmatics® whose product transcribes audio to test format. As this is one of the features at Platforum9, we took note of how they plan to roll this out with ChatGPT and the challenges we all face with hallucinations-the term now being used for Chat CPT content that we know not to be real.

Being part of a community interested in new use cases for technology is inspiring. Being with people who lead in their sector though innovation is motivating and being supported by those who “get your idea” is the wind in the sails needed to keep moving.
