Dr. Velimir Zivkovic, MJur is an Associate Professor and Director of LLM ICL, IEL and ICGFR programs at University of Warwick School of Law.
In addition to academic work, he is an independent of counsel and consultant in investor-State, commercial, and sports arbitration cases, as well as an independent arbitrator (currently at ICAC – UCCI).
He was previously a Research Fellow with the Berlin/Potsdam Research Group ‘International Rule of Law – Rise or Decline?’ Research interests include International Investment Law, International Arbitration, Rule of Law and Comparative Law. Current teaching includes International Arbitration and Contract Law.
Velimir finished his PhD in Law at the London School of Economics on the topic of ‘International Investment Protection and the National Rule of Law: A Normative Framework for a New Approach’. Before that, he graduated cum laude from undergraduate (2008) and LL.M studies (2009) at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, and completed Magister Juris studies at the University of Oxford (University College) in 2011, with Distinction and Best Overall MJur Performance Proxime Accessit prize.
From 2012 until 2018 he has been an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Comparative Law in Belgrade. Other activities include previous consultancy positions for World Bank and Swiss government-funded projects on improving the rule of law in South-East Europe.
